How do I apply to adopt a Bella Siberian kitten?
Fill out our Application form. If you are approved, place a deposit and send us preferences for your new Siberian kitten! -
How does reserving a kitten work?
Kittens are not considered reserved until a deposit is received. The first person to place a deposit on our waitlist has first choice of the relevant kittens in that litter. Second deposit, second choice, and so on. "Relevant" refers to three criteria, in order of priority - Allergen level, Sex and Color/Pattern. -
Should I get two kittens?
If you have the means, two kittens are a great idea. They entertain each other, reducing destructive behavior. They keep each other company. And they teach each other how to play more gently, not only with each other, but with you. -
What's so great about Siberian cats?
They are hypoallergenic, which allows people with cat allergies to enjoy the company of a cat in their home. Siberian cats are very social and seek attention from their families. They have luxurious triple coats that, although long, do not require much grooming. They are so amazing that the luxurious 5-star Lanesborough Hotel in London is known for its resident Siberian cat Lillibet, who is in high demand with royal and celebrity guests (including Madonna and Sylvester Stallone). Meet Lilibet, the Lanesborough Hotel's most famous resident -
Are Siberian cats hypoallergenic?
No cat is 100% hypoallergenic, but Siberians are among the most hypoallergenic breeds. With our allergen testing, you can be confident that your new kitten will not affect you. -
What do I need for my new Siberian kitten?
You'll need a travel kennel, litter box, litter, and nutritious kitten food to start. Then you can add food and water dishes, a harness and leash, toys, scratchers, furniture and a brush. -
Should I let my Siberian cat outside?
For safety, indoors only is by far the better choice. Cats' natural instincts to hunt and stray will then need to be provided for in other ways, with toys, puzzles and attention. -
Why should I choose Bella Siberian Cats as my breeder?
Our cats are purebreds from original Russian stock, with breed standards - including being hypoallergenic and social - our priority. We work to socialize our kittens so that they'll be comfortable in their new homes right away. Healthy, well-adjusted kittens are our business and our passion. Our cattery is registered with TICA and CFA. If you live in the Seattle area, our Siberian kittens are a short drive away. If you live outside Washington, we also offer safe nationwide shipping options. -
How do I keep my Siberian cat safe?
Keep them indoors. Always stay up to date with vaccinations. Cat and kitten-proof your house, all the way to the ceiling - they can jump and climb. There's more cat safety information here. -
How much maintenance do Siberian cats require?
Brushing fur once a week and clipping nails every couple of weeks is usually plenty. Aim to brush teeth at least 2-3 times a week. -
Will my other pets get along with a Siberian cat?
Most animals do well with new kittens, and Siberian cats are known for getting along well with other animals.
TICA (The International Cat Association) offers lots of information about the Siberian cat.
